The Columbus Bicycle Co-op is offering maintenance classes. Classes will be on Monday evenings from 6:00-8:00. You are welcome to bring your bike and/or tool kit. For those that do not want to bring their own bike please note examples from our shop can be provided. These classes will be hands on. Suggested donation of $10 per session is greatly appreciated. If you are interested please RSVP. This will help make sure we tailor the classes to your bicycle’s specs.
June 6-The basics. Learn how to repair a flat while riding. We will also cover basic cleaning and care of your bike.
June 13-Derailleurs and Shifting. This class will cover basic troubleshooting, adjustment, and maintenance of shifting and derailleur systems.
June 20- Brakes. This class will cover inspection and adjustment of brakes.
June 27- Hubs and bearings. This class will cover hub overhaul and adjustment. We will also cover other bearing types located throughout the bike.
July 11- Wheels and Spokes. This class will cover basic wheel truing and spoke replacement.
